Irene - Wakonda Athletic Booster Club

The Irene Wakonda Booster Club is an organization that was created back in 2006 to support the IW athletic teams after the Irene and Wakonda School Districts coop-ed for sports.

 

We fundraiser each year and use the funds for team camps, special trips (state tournaments and meets) and for larger projects such as providing some of the equipment in the new weight room in the gym.

 

Our primary fundraiser is our golf tournament. Each summer we host a 4 person couples best ball tournament at Glenridge Golf Course in Irene and also a 4 person best ball at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton. Golfers pay their dues and then enjoy 18 holes of golf, pin prizes, door prizes, a meal and a shirt. Area businesses and families sponsor holes and have sponsorship signage on each hole and listed in the backs of each shirt.
