Mission Statement:  Christ living in us, us living in Christ.

Calvary Lutheran Church was formed in 1966 by a merger of Irene Lutheran and Salem Lutheran.  Turkey Valley Lutheran and Meldal Lutheran later joined Calvary.  Calvary's first service in our current building was held June 18, 1968.

Calvary is an Independent Lutheran church focused on ministering God's love to people through scripture, prayer, preaching, music and outreach within the community.  We are called the "Church on the Hill" and by that we seek to be a beacon of light where people come and feel safe and welcome through the light of Christ's love.  We preach and teach the gospel message of salvation through Jesus alone.  We are lead by the Holy Spirit to operate in the gifts that He has given us.  Come to Calvary and experience the refreshing love of God that is for all people.

Worship service is at 9:00am during school year with Sunday School at 10:15am. Services streamed on Facebook live.  Women meet quarterly, Women's bible study meets  on the 2nd of the month at 9:30am.  Calvary men meet at Sunset Manor at 7:00am on the 2nd Wed. of each month; Quilting is on the 3rd Monday of the month from 9:00am - 3:00pm; Prayer shawl on 3rd Wednesday in September - May at 7:00pm.  Confirmation is every Wednesdays during school year T 6:30pm.  Kids of the Kingdom, Eagle Fridays during school year.  Advent brunch for area women.  Calvary adopts a 2 mile stretch of Hwy 46 each May.  World Day of Prayer 1st Friday in March.  Homecoming community lunch.  Serve the Yankton Banquet on the 2nd Thursday of July.  Sunday in the Park 1st Sunday in June.  Outdoor worship 1st Sunday in August with coffee fellowship following worship. Grocery Give Away is every Thursday from 4:00pm - 5:00pm

Congregation formed in 1872.  Original building struck by lightening and burned in 1915.  Present building erected that same year.  Jon Crane has used this church in 3 of his paintings.

Trondhjem is a Free Lutheran congregation where we focus on simple worship centered around the Word of God and are empowered by the Holy Spirit to be salt and light in our community.  Our church ministry is Gospel centered, prayer centered and hightlighted by a variety of music from traditional with organ to country gospel with guitar, string bass and vocal harmonies.  Come to Trondhjem and experience God's love through music and the word.

The Irene UMC is known as "The Little Brown Church" in Irene.  We welcome everyone of all ages.  We cherish the experience and traditions of our elder generations and we recognize the importance and future in our younger generation.  Come as you are.  Bring your family.  We love the sounds that children add to our worship service.

We share a faith in Jesus Christ, but the United Methodist Church encourages us to think for ourselves, so we don't necessarily share the same opinions about every faith issue or social concern.  And, there are lots of us: Just under 8 million United Methodists live in the U.S. and 1.5 million more worldwide.  We have an obligation to bear a faithful Christian witness to Jesus Christ.

The Irene UMC holds monthly family events - hayride, movie night, game night, etc.  We have a strong mission outreach with participation and donations locally and worldwide.  The church basement also houses the Irene Community Food Pantry.

Please  join us for Sunday worship service at 10:00 a.m. followed by Sunday school classes for both youth and adults (during the school year) at 11:00am.
